FAQ’s
What kind of hay do you feed?  Grass-alfalfa mix, usually 1st cutting through the summer and early winter. Toward the end of the winter, we usually switch to 3rd cutting to prepare the horses for grass turnout.

Can I provide a fan? In the summer, yes. Just set it on a timer from 10-6.

Can I put lights in my horse’s stall so he doesn’t grow a coat?  No. We’re not a show barn. You should board at a show barn.

Can I pay extra for more bedding in my horse’s stall? No. we stick to our system of stall cleaning so that our workers can spend more time with their horses and less time cleaning stalls. We also have enough manure waste to get rid of, so unless you’re willing to buy the bedding, clean your stall 365 days per year, and haul off your extra waste, then no.

Oh no! you called me because my horse is sick, I’m (at a wedding, out with my boyfriend, sleeping, playing a videogame, whatever) and I don’t want to come out. Can you drop all your plans and stay there with my horse and the vet?  No, I probably had plans too, and just like you wouldn’t drop your plans to care for my horse if I were asleep, I expect you to care for your horse.

Can I bring my “knowledgeable friend” over to help me with my horse?  No. but you can arrange lessons with our in-house person who has passed the American Riding Instructor Association test. Can I bring my trainer in for lessons? only if your trainer has a nationally recognized certification, has insurance, and doesn’t mess with the chi of the barn.

Can I trailer in and use your arena?  Sure! $10/time or $50/month. Sign your waiver first, clean up after yourself, and don’t expect special treatment.
